Ada Lavon Stiawalt, age 96, passed away at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, Kansas on November 11, 2013.

Ada was born November 15, 1916 at her home near Alexander, Kansas. She was the oldest of the 6 children of Henry and Alice (Bott) Boese and was raised southeast of Bazine, Kansas. Ada graduated from Bazine High School with the class of 1936 after which she taught country schools for six years.

She married Glenn Stiawalt September 24, 1939 at her parents home and lived in the Beeler and Spearville communities before moving to Ness City in 1949. Of this union were born two children, Vickie Darlene and William Henry Stiawalt. Glenn and Ada were partners in the West Side Service and members of the First Baptist Church of Ness City.

Ada is survived by her son, Bill and his wife Marilyn; eight grandchildren, Darin, Kevin, Diedra, Jessica, Judy, Jason, Paul, and Heather; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Ada was preceded in death by her husband Glenn on August 1, 1977; her daughter Vickie Dannewitz on August 5, 2005; her brothers Art, Harvey, Ralph, and Eddie Boese; and sister Divina Keller.

Viewing will be 9 A.M – 9 P.M. Friday, November 15, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 16, at First Baptist Church, Ness City, Kansas.
