Annabelle Pearl Anderson, 91, passed away on September 20, 2023 at HaysMed in Hays, Kansas.  She was born on June 6, 1932 in Wood Lake, Nebraska the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Mundt) Welke.

Annabelle graduated from Wood Lake High School in Wood Lake, Nebraska. She started work after graduation as a telephone operator. She married the love of her life Raleigh R. Anderson on February 18, 1951. To this union a son, Brent Duane and a daughter, Candace (Candy) Rae was born.

Annabelle moved to Kansas in 1963 for Raleigh's employment in Story's Locker Plant in Ness City, KS. Later they bought the processing plant, and it became Anderson Locker Plant. Throughout her life Annabelle worked hard at many different occupations. When Annabelle wasn't working, she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends or watching her favorite shows or sporting events on the television.  Eventually she had to stop playing cards because macular degeneration prevented her from seeing the cards. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed b her children, relatives, and friends.

Survivors include her son, Brent Anderson of Ness City; daughter, Candace Anderson of Hays; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her father and mother-in-law; a sister, Opal Boyd; and brothers, Sam, Ed, Vic, Art, and Lou Welke.

Graveside service will be on Monday, September 25, 2023, 10:30 A.M., at the Ness City Cemetery, Ness City, Kansas. Viewing will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas, on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Hays Hospice.
