Aylene Kay Barrett, age 63, passed away at her home in Ness City on Monday, September 6, 2010. She was born on August 6, 1947 in Ness City the daughter of Robert and Lorene Stecklein Pfannenstiel. She was the clerk of the board for the Ness City Unified School District where she had worked for 39 years until she retired in 2010. On August 2, 1974 she married David Barrett in Ness City. He survives. Other survivors include her son Sean and wife Tamara Barrett, Overland Park, Kansas; her mother, Lorene Pfannenstiel; her brother Tim Pfannenstiel, Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters, Gloria Mlinek, Hays and Andra Wagner, Englewood, Colorado and two grandchildren, Kailee and Davis Barrett, Overland Park, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Pfannenstiel.

Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-9 pm, Wednesday from 9am until 9pm, and on Thursday from 9am until 11:00 . Rosary service will be Wed, 7pm with visitaion following. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 9, 2010, 10:30 am at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City with Father Hildebrandt and Father Stecklein presiding. Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart School or Ness County Home Health.
