Bertha Solze's journey through life ended July 1, 2013, at the age of 93.
Bertha was born October 23, 1919, near Milberger, Kansas, to Reinardt and Eva Karst. She was baptized and confirmed at Milberger Lutheran Church, later moved to WaKeeney.
Bertha married Ralph Gatrel July 18, 1936. They had two children, Sylvia and Larry. On September 9, 1954, Bertha married Frank Solze. They had two children, Rodney and Donald. Frank and Bertha farmed south of Utica until 1991, when Bertha moved to Ness City.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, Ralph Gatrel and Frank Solze.

Bertha was a member of 4-H, United Methodist Women, and Helping Hands Club. Bertha enjoyed music, horses, dancing, cooking and her extended family. She was always willing to help others, and her endless love will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 5, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Utica, KS. at 10:30 AM. Viewing will be July 4, 2013 from 9 am - 9 pm at the funeral home.
