Betty Belle Beckmeyer, 91, passed away on February 24, 2019 at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City. She was born on December 1, 1927 in Hays, Kansas the daughter of Claire and Agnes (Groff) Higgins.

She was a homemaker. She worked at a flower shop in Hays for several years after high school graduation. She married Edward "EC" Beckmeyer on Thursday, March 23rd, 1950, in Russell, Kansas. He died on July 10, 2003. Betty and Ed were long-time residents of El Dorado, Kansas before retiring and moving to North Port, Florida.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay McCracken and her husband, Clyde; brother, Sam Higgins; grandchildren, Christopher (Katie) and Philip McCracken; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Emmett, and Stewart McCracken. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Arbutus Skelley.

Her ashes will be scattered at Trinity United Methodist Church Scattering Garden in North Port, Florida at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church or Camp Galilee.
