Betty Ann Rider, 83, died Aug. 14, 2009, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Ness County, to Harold and Alice Rufenacht Barber. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk at the Ransom Drug Store. She was very active in the First Mennonite Church and the Women's Mission Society and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary all of Ransom. In 1946, she married Keith Rider. He died Dec. 3, 1984. Survivors include: a son, Kip Rider, Ransom; a daughter, Deea Pfaff, Brownell; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Schreiber and Faye Jarvis.
Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First Mennonite Church, Ransom with Pastor Eldon Epp presiding. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Ransom Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the First Mennonite Church, in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
