Carl Henry Reinert, age 88, passed away on March 14, 2012 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born on March 2, 1924 on the family farm in Riverside, Kansas the son of Henry A. and Alice I. Petersilie Reinert.

He was a farmer and stockman, a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bazine, Gideon, and was a former USD 303 School Board President. He graduated from Ness City High School in 1941.

He married Vada Shauers on August 1, 1948 in Ness City. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1971. He later married Mae Lindt Jacobs on May 3, 1993 in Colorado. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons: Russell Reinert (Nancy), Hutchinson, Doug Reinert, Ness City, Dave Reinert (Sandy), Ness City; four step-sons: Tom, Dennis, Glen, and Harlan Jacobs; two brothers, Larry (Barbara) and Ralph Reinert both of Ness City; two sisters, Virginia Turley, Scott City and Gladys Hilmes (Fred), Ness City; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren, and eight step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Orlyn, Jerry, Eugene, and Marion Reinert.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 17, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Ness City with burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 9 am until 9 pm with the family present from 7-9 pm. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bazine.
