Clarice Marie Stoecklein, age 85, passed away on November 15, 2024, at Cedar Village, Ness City, Kansas.   She was born on May 21, 1939, in Schoenchen, Kansas, the daughter of Wendelin W. and Brigitta (Dinges) Werth.

On October 11, 1958, she married Leonard Stoecklein in Schoenchen.  Together they made their home in Ness City where they raised their 5 children.  Clarice was the co-owner of Jenny's Fabrics where she also held ceramic classes and workshops.  She was a member of the Ness City Sacred Heart Church where she sang in the choir and Altar Society.  She also shared her singing and musical talents at many weddings and entertaining the residents at Cedar Village. She loved to cook, sew, garden, bowl and her trips to the casino.

Clarice is survived by her children, RoxAnne (Eldon) Erb of Princeton, TX, Susan (Fiancé, John "Scooter" Lackey) Stoecklein of Peoria, AZ, Stephanie (Bud) Brown of Hutchnson, and Kevin (Amy) Stoecklein of Ness City; brother, Paul (Donna) Werth of Great Bend; sister, Dorothy (John) Moeder of Hays; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Dorothy Werth; her husband Leonard on October 18, 2014; her son, Gary Stoecklein on May 26, 1982; four brothers, Ralph, LeRoy, Linus, and Donny Werth; and five sisters, LaVera Schuckman, Lori Klaus, Mary Catherine Barnes, Joyce Klaus, and infant Anna Katherine Werth.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City followed by burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Rosary and parish vigil will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Monday, November 18, 2024, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Church or School or Hospice of the Prairie.
