Coline Kay Marcus, 83, passed away on February 10, 2025, at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas.  She was born on April 6, 1941 in Vicksburg, Mississippi the daughter of Colton and Pauline (Cooper) Duer.

She was a school librarian for 53 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, KNEA, and the Ness City Methodist Church. She married Peter Marcus on December 30, 1962, in St. John, Kansas. He passed away on January 17, 2019.

Survivors include her son, John Marcus and his wife, Brenda; daughter, Penny Nielsen and her husband, Patrick; five grandchildren, Katie and Cody Ketzner, Lisa and Jessica Burgy, Jacob and Andrew Nielsen; three great-granddaughters, Djakata Ray, Angel, and Briana Corp; two great-great-grandsons, Judah and Asher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Wayne Duer.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Ness City Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will follow the service. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery, St. John, Kansas. at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness City Methodist Church or the Ness City Public Library.
