Cora Lee Filbert, age 85, passed away on November 22, 2017 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing Center, Charleston, IL. She was born on January 27, 1932 in Alexander, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Hannah (Wittig) Blocher

On October 15, 1950 she married Duane Filbert in Alexander. Together they lived on a farmstead Northwest of Bazine where they lovingly raised their children Doug, Dwight, Myron, and Julie. In 2010 they moved to Hays where they lived until Duane's death in 2014. In 2015 Cora Lee moved to Charleston, IL to be near her daughter Julie. Her children were her life. She adored and cherished every moment with her children their families.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Hays, Kansas and member of Ruth Circle.

She is survived by her children, Doug Filbert (Alison) Milton, Florida; Dwight Filbert (Michele) Lincoln, NE; Myron Filbert (Erin) Brownell, KS, Julie Benedict (Reed) Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Stacie Filbert, Brad Filbert, Stephanie Stone, Kelli Gorley, Courtney Filbert, Casey Rhoads, Krina Filbert, Leah Rodriguez, Breann Benedict; 12 Great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred Blocher (Floris), sister Joann Ebert, sister Beverly Gabel (Hank)

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; infant son, Bret Filbert; infant Grandson, Dustin Filbert; and brother, Gary Blocher.

She will be forever loved and missed.

Funeral service will be on Monday, November 27, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City followed by burial in the Bazine Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or the United Methodist Church, Bazine.
