Darlene Lavon Bratten, age 76, passed away at her home in the Lane County Long Term Care, Dighton, Kansas on March 25, 2014. She was born on June 25, 1937 in Carlyle, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Lelia Truby Bratten.

She was a waitress and worked as a housekeeper for a hospital. In 1982 she moved to rural Lane County with Kitty and Tom Fisher. In Kitty's later years Darlene was her a trusted companion and caregiver.

Darlene is survived by a nephew, Douglas Bratten, former sister-in-law, Mary Ann Larkin, and Kitty's brother, James Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Bratten, and dear friends Kitty and Tom Fisher.

A graveside funeral service and burial will be at the Beeler Cemetery, Beeler, Kansas on Saturday, March 29, 2014, 11:00 A.M.
