Darrell W. Garrison, age 77, died November 14, 2016 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born on September 16, 1939 the son of Alonzo and Blanche Trefeathern Garrison in rural Graham County, Kansas.

He worked for Clear Creek Oil Company until he retired. He was a US Army veteran. He loved watching KU basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals. He was well known as coach for little league baseball for many years. He loved to fish and deer hunt.

On April 17, 1959 he married Marvalee Elling in Lenora, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Lisa (Sean) Dinkel, Hays; four sons, Kerry (Samantha) Garrison, Ness City, Monty (Tammy) Garrison, Great Bend, Tad Garrison, Ness City, and Jason Garrison, Ness City; daughter-in-law, Denise Garrison, Hays; seven grandchildren, Krista (Jason) Dechant, Hays, Dalton Garrison, Ness City, Dylan, Marissa, and Kenlie Dinkel, Hays, Brayden and Blake Hess-Garrison, Illinois; six great grandchildren, Payton, Dawson, Brennon, Maci and Makayla Garrison, Hays, Braxton Fritzler, Hays; and six step-grandchildren; brother, Bill Garrison, Hill City and sister Janice Slaven, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bob Garrison, grandson, Michael Garrison, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be on Friday, November 18, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City with burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Viewing at the funeral home on Thursday, November 17 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 7-8:30 P.M. Contributions may be given to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
