Darren Eugene McVicker, age 47, passed away on October 29, 2013 in rural Ness County in a single vehicle accident. He was born on June 2, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas. He is the son of Ernest and Maxine Prose McVicker.

He was a farmer, stockman, and a truck driver for NCRA. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Sons of the American Legion both of Ness City. He earned numerous driving awards for safety.

On September 9, 1989 he married Shelly Blake in Ness City. He is survived by his three children, Dillon, Blake, and Tristan McVicker and his sister Shyrl Taylor all of Ness City. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Maxine McVicker.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 2, 2013, 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Ness City. Cremation will take place after the funeral and inurnment in the Buda Cemetery will occur at a later date. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Frank Stull Post 152 or the Veterans' Memorial and Park, Ness City, Kansas.
