David E. Barrett, age 71 died Saturday October 30, 2010 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. Born August 18, 1939 the son of Kenneth and Tessa Powell Barrett in McMinnville, Oregon. He was a custodian for Ness City Public School for 29 years, but he would claim that he was a fisherman by trade. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Frank Stull American Legion both of Ness City, and he was a US Coast Guard Veteran.

On August 2, 1974 he married Ayleen Pfannenstiel in Ness City. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2010.

Rosary will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, 7:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, November 4, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City with Father Henry Hildebrandt and Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may visit on Tuesday from noon until 9PM and Wednesday from 9 AM until 9PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home.
