Delwin Chapman, age 49, passed away in Clark County, Nevada on December 7, 2011 along with his wife Tamara Chapman.

Delwin was born on September 9, 1962 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Leland and Sandra Mendenhall Chapman. Delwin and Tamara Basinger were united in marriage on December 6, 1986 in Utica, Kansas.

Delwin owned his own building contractor business. He was a deacon and the building and property chairman at the First Christian Church in Utica, a member of the Utica city council, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and a member of the National Rifle Association. Tamara was a cosmetologist.

Delwin is survived by daughters and grandchildren, Kendra Solze (Derek) with Mallory and Logan Solze, Pratt, Melanie Stoecklein (Eric) with Aubrie and Khloe Stoecklein, Wichita, Jennifer Chapman with Tracer and Brecken Chapman, Dighton, and Jacklyn Walker (Adam), Utica. Delwin is also survived by his parents; brother Jack Chapman (Susan), Dighton; and sister, Melissa Jacobs (Jake), Middlebury, Indiana and six nephews and six nieces and their beloved dogs, Sasha J, Tinkabell, Sophia Maria, and Jack.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Lena Chapman and Dale and Anna Mendenhall.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 17, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at the First Christian Church, Utica.

Friends may sign the guest book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, on Friday from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. The family will be present from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial in Utica Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Delwin and Tamara Chapman Memorial Fund or the Utica First Christian Church.
