Donald Bert Leterle, age 81, passed away on April 21, 2012 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City, Kansas. He was born in rural Ness County on November 12, 1930 the son of Chris and Viola Reynolds Leterle.
He was a United States Army Veteran, a retired truck driver for Finney County, and a member of the American Legion, Bazine and he loved to play solitaire.
On March 8, 1969 he married Donna Lee Blunk in Clay County, Tennessee. She survives of the home. Other survivors include son, Charles Amy, Ness City; five daughters, Karen Lowe (Darrell), New Salisbury, Indiana, Debra McInnis, Ness City, Sherri Weipert (Danny), Garden City, Anita Burditt (Keith), Ness City, and Johnni Ramsey (Bob), Concordia, Kansas; three sisters, Frances Gabel, Shirley Kraft, and Carol Schwien all of Ness City; 23 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and his beloved dog, Ralphie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert Leterle; two infant siblings; and three sons-in-law: Eldon Leighty, Jerry Brock, and James B. McInnis.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 10:30 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City with Reverend Russell King presiding. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday and Tuesday from 9am until 9pm with the family present on Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness County Historical Society, American Kidney Foundation, or the American Heart Association.
