Donald Wayne Summey, 82, passed away on June 19, 2021 at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas.  He was born on August 28, 1938 in McDonald County, Missouri the son of Leo and Maurine (Anderson) Summey.

Don worked as the City Superintendent and maintenance in Utica. He also farmed and drove a truck. He was on the Utica City Council. He was on the Utica Rural Fire Department. He was a member of the Lion's Club. He married Marilyn Sue Bernbeck on August 26, 1956, in Clayton, New Mexico. She died on January 15, 2012.

Survivors include 3 sons, Mark (Terri) Summey of Emporia, Bernie (Gert) Summey of Ness City, Lance (Fran) Summey of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Summey-Lebow of Willamina, Oregon and Patricia Summey-Reavis of Coos Bay, Oregon; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, and a sister.

Funeral service will be on Friday, June 25, 2021, 10:30 A.M., at the First Christian Church, Utica, Kansas followed with burial in the Utica Cemetery.  Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church.
