Obituary

Dora Delphine Norton, age 85, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Cedar Village in Ness City, Kansas. She was born on September 6, 1940, in St. Francis, Kansas, to Melvin and Gertie (Schlepp) Rogers.

After graduating from St. Francis High School, Delphine attended Fort Hays State University where she met the love of her life, Lee Norton. They later married in St. Francis, and together they made their home in Utica. Delphine and Lee worked side by side on the family farm while raising their two children. Delphine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who also took an active role in her community. She was a member of the Utica Methodist Church, served on the Utica school board for many years, and was a member of Eastern Star.

Delphine is survived by her son, Dr. Randall Norton and his wife, Dr. Judy Norton, of Utica; her daughter, Brenda Dinges, APRN and her husband, Darren, of Ness City; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gary Rogers and his wife, Carol, of St. Francis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; and her brother, Gordon Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City, followed by burial in the Utica Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Utica Methodist Church or Hospice of the Prairie in Dodge City.
