Dorothy Belle Jones, age 88, passed away in Garfield, Kansas on October 19, 2011.

She was born on June 4, 1923 in rural Bazine, Kansas the daughter of Alfred and Cora Wollard Cox.
She was a homemaker, a cook, and also had worked at a defense plant in Wichita as a spot welder. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, The American Legion Auxillary, and the Game Program at the Long Term Care (all of Ness City).

On January 27, 1955 she married Moreland Jones. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Debbie Jones.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Abel (Marlene), Alex, Oklahoma and Lonnie Abel (Marlene), Garfield; daughters, Sandy Brown (Larry), McPherson and Jeanie Smith, McPherson; step-son, Tommy L. Jones, Georgia; brother, Harold Cox (Elinor), Hugoton; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Monday, October 24, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at the Ness City Cemetery, Ness City. Friends may sign the register book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Friday and Saturday from 9 A.M to 9 P.M. and Sunday 9 A.M. to 7 P.M.. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment in the Ness City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness City First Baptist Church.
