Douglas D. Reinert, 69, passed away of natural causes on November 28, 2022, at his home on the farm near Ness City, Kansas.  He was born on February 12, 1953, in Dodge City, Kansas the son of Carl and Vada (Shauers) Reinert.

Doug was a member of the United Methodist Church, Ness City and he was a lifetime resident of Ness County in the Riverside Community.  Farming and Ranching and helping the community was Doug's passion.  He was a Franklin Township Trustee for over 30 years and was a member of both the District 1 Fire board and the Ness County Soil Conservation board. And Doug was a proud member of the NRA.

Douglas is survived by his companion, Stacy Ann Hornung; 2 brothers, Russell Reinert of Hutchinson, and Dave Reinert and his wife, Sandy, of Ness City; nephews and nieces Bret and Brandi Reinert, Ross and Ashley Reinert, Rochelle and Michael Wertz, and John and Sammie Reinert; and grandnieces and nephews, Addison, Bryson, Jaxon, Bridget, and Bindi.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Nancy  Reinert.

Memorial service will be on Friday, December 2, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.  Inurnment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.  Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1 from 10:00 a.m until 7:00 pm to sign the book.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness County Fire District No. 1, North Ness County EMS, or South Ness County EMS.
