Earl P. Erb, age 89, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. Born November 11, 1919 near Bazine the son of Fred A. and Lizzie Gross Erb.
He was a farmer and stockman, a member of the United Methodist Church, Ness City, American Legion Olin Cole Post No. 392, Bazine and the VFW, LaCrosse. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II.
On June 1, 1950 in Fayetteville, AR he married Marie Williams. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: son: Eldon and Roxanne Erb – Broomfield, CO; three daughters: Marchia and Gene Ruth, Excelsior Springs, MO, Jan and Mike Goldsworthy – Denton, TX, and Anita and Tom Lynch, Lampassas, TX; one brother, Richard Erb, Marshfield, MO; seven sisters: Marjorie Schaben and Evelyn Pitzer, Hutchinson, Jeannine Hamilton and Geraldine Floyd, Marshfield, Leona Chenney, Hoisington, Gracie Risley, Dodge City, and Shirley Erb, Mesa, AZ; 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christiana Marie Maybee; four brothers: Elmer, Leo, Pearl, and Fred; two sisters: Janice Posey and Norma Jennings.
Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church, Ness City on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Mark Chambers presiding. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 7-9 P.M. and at the church Tuesday until service time.
Burial in the Bazine Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Bazine American Legion. Memorial contributions may be given to the Diabetic Care Club.
