Obituary

Earl Klaus, 67, passed away on September 23, 2021, in rural Ness County, Kansas.  He was born on February 20, 1954 in Hays, Kansas the son of Andrew and Charlene (Weigel) Klaus.

Earl was a diesel mechanic for 35 years at Schwartzkopf Sales and Service and Walker Implement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church where he was a 3 rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He married Marilyn Hammerschmidt on September 28, 1974, in Hays, Kansas. They later divorced.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Eileen Richards and her husband, Keith, of Sylva, NC and Liz Delaney and her husband, Justin, of Ness City; 2 sisters, Linda Klaus of Dodge City and Diane Fakir and her husband, Zak, of Goddard; 2 brothers, Ralph Klaus and his wife, Annette, of Shawnee and Pete Klaus of Aurora, CO; 5 grandchildren, Tyler and Caleb Milkey, Wyatt, Matthew, and Hannah Delaney.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Hunter Milkey.

Rosary will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 10:00 a.m.  Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery to follow.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Klaus Grandchildren College Fund.
