Edmund Vincent Wassinger Jr., 79, passed away on June 22, 2023 at his home in Ness City, Kansas.  He was born on March 28, 1944 in Port Townsend, Washington the son of Edmund Sr. and Sylvia (Schweitzer) Wassinger.

Eddie owned and operated Eddie's Service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed drag racing and he was a member of the NHRA.  He married Barbara Bieber on May 19, 1973, in Norton, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wassinger of Ness City; 2 sons, Darin Wassinger of Shawnee, Kevin (Andrea) Wassinger of Topeka; 2 daughters, Suzann (Lance) Pfeifer of Firestone, CO, Meghan Rupp of Ness City; brother, Terry Wassinger of Ness City; 3 sisters, Sandy (Larry) Barricklow of Sarasota, FL, Sherry Frick of Oakley, Tammi (Craig) Foos of Bazine; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Parish Vigil will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City, Kansas.  Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City.  Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Cemetery or Sacred Heart School.
