Obituary

Edna Mae Simpson, age 85, passed away at Trego County Long Term Care, WaKeeney, Kansas on March 1, 2011. She was born on August 8, 1925 in WaKeeney, Kansas the daughter of Alexander Merritt and Vera Clodfelter Beamer. She was Co-founder and Co-owner of Simpson Farms Enterprises and a lifetime resident of the Ransom, Kansas area. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ransom, Gay Gingham EHU, and Rebekah Lodge.

On May 22, 1943 she married Virgil Simpson. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2002. She is survived by her son, Greg (Theresa) Simpson, Ransom; daughter, Jane Lambert, three Way, TN, brother, Edwin Beamer, Ransom; grandchildren, Monica (Tad) Davis, Collierville, TN, Jeff Lambert, Jackson, TN, Denise (Shane) Lynch, Russell, Jed (Arielle) Simpson, Hays, and Jay (Bekka) Simpson, Wichita and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ethel Kingery.

Friends may call Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday, 9 a.m. To 9 pm. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, Ransom. Burial in Ransom Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Trego County Long Term Care or Ransom Church of Christ.
