Edna E. Wegele, age 90, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Avita Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on April 12, 1923 in Barton County, Kansas the daughter of John and Pauline Popp Maier.

She was a bank officer, member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Lutheran Ladies Aide, Bazine, and Lutheran Hour Ministries and a near lifetime resident of Ness County coming from Barton County in 1929.

On May 7, 1944 she married Paul Wegele in Milberger, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2001.

Edna is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nadine Oppliger and brothers, Julius and Marvin Maier.

Funeral service will be on Monday, October 21, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bazine with burial following in the Bazine cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M.
