Elnora Montie (West) Evel, age 92, passed away at Grisell Memorial Hospital, Ransom, Kansas on August 21, 2011. She was born on September 7, 1918 in Osage, Arkansas the daughter of Thomas M. and Mary Ethel Wyatt West. She was a homemaker and a near lifetime resident of rural Trego County. She was a member of the Assembly God Church of Ness City.

On October 17, 1945 she married Charles H. Evel. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1996.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Edward Evel (Joyce), Fair Grove, Missouri; daughters, Elnora Jeanette Ochs (Mitchell), Great Bend, Ethel Jane Evel, Arnold, and Loretta Mae Ferguson (Gary), Hudson, Colorado; sisters, Wyona Blevins, Hutchinson, and Bonnie Catterson (Clyde), Kentucky; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Betty Jean Dysinger and Charletta Carson; brothers, Loren and Lloyd West; sisters, Cleo Hooper and Cliffie Mann; and grandson, Clinton Evel.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 24, 2011, 1:30 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. and Wednesday from 9 A.M. to Noon at the funeral home. Burial in Ransom Cemetery.
