Elnora Schwien, age 93, passed away at Ness County Hospital, Ness City, Kansas on September 11, 2013. She was born on October 19, 1919 in Bazine, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Strecker) Schneider. She was a cook at the Bazine high school. On April 15, 1945, she married Edward Schwien. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2005.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Carol) Schwien, Ness City; daughter, Mary (Marvin) Barnes, Wichita; grandchildren, Crystal (Jay) Wells, Trish (Bill) Lewton, Darin (Adina) Barnes, and Jennifer (Matthew) Willrath; great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Wells, Jacqueline and Rebecca Lewton, Katelyn and Chase Willrath; brother, Lloyde Schneider; and sisters, Catherine Barnes, Alta Weigel, and Amelia Michaelis.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Dean, Raymond, Victor, Clarence, John, Ruben; and sisters, Ruth Gerhardt, Viola Maier, Edna Propp, and Helen Stephens.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 14, 2013, 3:00 P.M. at St. Paul Congregational Church. Burial in Bazine Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 – 9, Friday, September 14, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Congregational Church in Bazine, or Cedar Village Long Term Care in Ness City.
