Elnora Yaeger, 91, died at the Good Samaritan Home in Hutchinson on Thursday, July 16, 2009. She was born September 4, 1917, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Brehm) Stieben on a farm near Bazine. She married Fred Yaeger on December 18, 1935. They lived in the Manteno area for many years before moving to Ness City in 1960. Elnora worked at the Toggery for several years and at the Style Shop until she was 80 years old.
Elnora is survived by her son, Larry, and his wife, Mary Jane of Hutchinson, grandson, Brad, and wife Janice of Wichita, and grandson, Bruce and wife Linda, Lafayette, CO. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and families of Wichita, Justin (Sarah) & Caleb Yaeger, Beth,(Kyle) & Braeden Masterson, and Matt Yaeger. Two of her great-grandchildren, Mandi (Sam) Walker and Michael,(Kylynn) and Cloey Yaeger live in Colorado. Other survivors include one brother, Carl Stieben, and wife, Ann, Bazine, one sister LaVone Erb, Boulder Colorado, sisters-in-law, Marie Schuamaun, Las Vegas, Nev., Edna Deitz, Washington, Joyce Yaeger, Wellington and many nieces and nephews.
Elnora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, William, and Lloyd, and four sisters, Clara Rein, Alma Byfield, Viola Wolfe, and Leona Schlegel.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Ness City on Monday, July 20, 10:30 am. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church, Ness City or the Kansas Hospice, Hutchinson, in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
