Dateline: Ness City, Kansas

Elsie Marie Williamson, age 98, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City. She was born on December 11, 1912 in Colgate, Oklahoma the daughter of Thomas and Sara Nielsen Kupiec. In 1921 her father moved the family back to Norway where Elsie lived for another 25 years until she accepted the call to be a missionary in China where she lived for over three years. She has lived in Kansas since 1953 where she served as pastor in several churches. Elsie was well-versed in the Bible, translating both Norwegian and English. She could speak four different languages: English, Norwegian, Chinese and German.

On June 27, 1955 she married K. Lowell Williamson in Downs, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1999. She is survived by two brothers: Per and Paul Kupiec, Oslo, Norway and Larry Benedict who called her "Mom".

Memorial service will be Friday, June 10, 2011, 2:00 PM at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday from 9am until 9pm and on Friday from 9am until noon. Memorial contributions may be given to Cedar Village.
