Elza Emmet "Hap" Stull, age 99, died Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born on October 14, 1910 in Brownell, Kansas the son of Jacob and Jennie Randall Stull. He was a stockman, rancher and was a wall plasterer and at one time ran a restaurant. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Young at Heart, Brownell, and Go Getters, Ransom, Senior Centers. On June 13, 1933 he married Irene Sekavec at Alexander, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2005.
He is survived by two sons: Jon Stull and his wife Janice, McCracken, Kansas and Richard Stull and his wife Phyllis, Ness City; one daughter, Linda Gearhart and her husband, Murle, Stillwater, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and 1 step great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cory, five brothers: Clark, Frank, Mark, Fred, and Clarence Stull and two sisters, Dove Walker and Ruth Snodgrass.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 7, 2:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City with Reverends Barbara McLain, Bruce Ferguson, and Sandy Ferguson presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 am. until 9:00 pm. with the family present from 7-9 pm. Burial in the Vansburg Cemetery, Brownell. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ransom Senior Center or the North Ness County EMT.
