Obituary

Evelyn Rose Gieber, age 93, passed away on August 22, 2014 at the Cedar Village Long Term Care Center, Ness City, Kansas. She was born on June 27, 1921 in Ogden, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Anna Nelson Stein.

On July 12, 1941 she married Benjamin C. Gieber in Ogden, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1992.

Evelyn was very active in the Ogden American Legion, she loved animals, and was a constant caregiver to many friends and family. Evelyn was an Army wife and travel with her husband to many different posts. They retired in Ogden. When Evelyn's health began to fail she moved to Ness City to be close to her daughter, Beth.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Miner, Ness City; a brother, Ken Stein, San Diego, California, two grandchildren, Andi Miner Washburn, Manhattan, Kansas, and Dr. Daniel Miner, Hays, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Bernice Westenbroek, a son, Steven Gieber, and son-in-law, William Miner.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Inurnment will be in the Fort Riley Post Cemetery.
