Fern Ruth Delaney, age 95, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. She was born July 14, 1917 on the farm SW of Bazine, the daughter of Clayton W. and LuLu E. Kirpatrick Libby.

She was a homemaker, attended the United Methodist Church, Ness City, attended the Bonnie View Country School and received her GED in 1972.

On March 3, 1934 she married Homer Delaney at Kinsley, Kansas. He preceded her in death in September 2003.

She is survived by her son, Earl Gene Delaney and his wife Judy, Ness City; daughter, Sharon K. Munsch; son-in-law, Les Dechant; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley R. Dechant; son, Homer C. "Jake" Delaney; brother, Hubert C. Libby; daughter-in-law, Darlene Delaney; son-in-law, LeRoy Munsch; grandson, Stephan R. Dechant; and great grandson, Chris E. Rupp.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 26, 2012, 2:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City with burial in the Ness City Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Wednesday 9:00 A.M. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be given to Cedar Village Long Term Care.
