Ferne Edna Davenport, age 95, passed away at Trinity Manor, Dodge City, Kansas, on May 14, 2014.
She was born on May 23, 1918, the daughter of Earl and Mattie Nelson Legg.
On January 15, 1936, she married Robert D. Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1981.
She is survived by her daughters, Roberta (Thomas) Fern Rodriguez, Spearville, KS; Bobbie Jo (Tom) Purta, Marshall, MO; daughter-in-law, Judy Delaney, Ness City; grandchildren, Yvonne Clemons; Tom (Melissa) Rodriguez; Robert (Angie) Rodriguez; Monty Levere; Jody Teeter; Cade Davenport; Billie Jo (Justin) Whipple; Becky Melcher; Robbie Davenport; great-grandchildren, Tyrel Clemons; Clinton, Katie, Tiffany, Skylar Rodriguez; Robert, Linda Marie, Anthony Rodriguez; Tom Purta; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Dean "Jake" Davenport; brothers, Max and Wayne Legg; sister, Cleo Wells; and great-grandson, Shane Clemons.
Cremation has taken place as per her wishes.
Memorial service will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to Ness County Bank Building.
