Florence A. Kerr, age 82, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. She was born July 16, 1927, Ness City, Kansas the daughter of Alex and Odella Pfannenstiel Gabel.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society of Ness City and she was previously active in the local 4-H and Cancer Society of Kansas.
On April 29, 1947 she married Howard Kerr in Ness City. He survives. Other survivors include four sons Gaylen & Debi Kerr, Ness City, Franklin & Linda Kerr, Topeka, KS, David & Mary Kerr, St. Louis, MO, Richard & Dena Kerr, Platte City, MO; one daughter, Leigh Ann Hendrickson, WaKeeney, KS; one brother, Harold Dean Gabel, Ness City; two sisters, Leona Dinges, Beaverton, OR, Kay Heizer, Wichita, KS; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Howard Kerr, Jr. and a brother, Alex Gabel, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 3, 2010, 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City with Fr. Warren Stecklein presiding. Rosary will be on Sunday, May 2, 7:00 pm at the church. Friends may call Sunday 10:00 am to 3:30 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City and at the church from 4:30 until 7pm. Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund and the Ness County Hospital.
