Obituary

Frances Lorene Foos Kimple passed away August 7, 2016 in Plano, TX. She was born in Bazine, KS on Oct. 10, 1942 to Elmer Foos and Lydia Fech Foos.

She was a graduate of Bazine High School and Emporia State Teachers College with a degree in Elementary education. She met Stephen Kimple of Ellinwood, KS in the band at Emporia. They married August 10, 1963 after he joined the Air Force. They first lived at Myrtle Beach AFB, SC and then Bergstrom AFB, Austin, TX. After military service in 1968 they moved to San Antonio, TX where Steve went to work for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. For the next 33 years, they lived in California twice, Japan, Germany, and Dallas, TX before retiring in Plano, TX. Fran retired from State Farm Insurance in Dallas, TX after 22 years. She enjoyed attending the activities at Temple Emmanu-El in Dallas and volunteered a day each week at the Judaic Treasures gift shop. She loved her Siamese cats. She enjoyed attending family reunions and her many sewing projects and crafting quilts.

She is preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Dennis Foos of Tahlequah, OK. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stephen Kimple of Plano, TX; three sisters, Donavee Shaw of Buckeye, AZ; Nancy Alsop of Seattle, WA and Kathryn Foos of Plano, TX; two brothers Carlynn Foos of Ness City, KS and Lowell Foos of Bazine, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Thurs., Aug 11, 2016 at Temple Emmanu-El in Dallas, TX.

Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. on Monday. Burial Tuesday, Aug. 16, 10:30 a.m. at the Ness City cemetery.
