Glenn Lorin Hagans, 81, of Utica, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
He was born on March 29, 1945, in Ransom, Kansas, to Darrell and Peggy (Martin) Hagans. Glenn attended school in Utica, graduating with the class of 1963. In November of that same year, he married Phyllis Ochs, and for twenty-eight years they made their home in Utica.
A lifelong resident of the Utica community, Glenn dedicated his life to hard work and the land he loved. Early in his career, he worked for the City of Utica before going into business with his brother Doug—and later Alan—at Hagans Repair. He eventually transitioned into full-time farming and ranching, where he truly found his stride. Glenn possessed a keen eye for livestock, taking great pride in buying cattle and using his well-honed skill to care for and trade them successfully.
He is survived by his three children: daughter Shelly Hagans Brown and her husband Clark of Hot Springs, South Dakota; son Kirby Hagans and his wife Kris of South Haven, Kansas; and son Clint Hagans of Platte City, Missouri. He also leaves behind two brothers, Doug Hagans of Cedar Bluff Lake, Kansas, and Alan Hagans and his wife Betty of Utica, Kansas; two grandsons, Kade Hagans and his wife Angela of Ness City, Kansas, and Tyson Hagans, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in South Korea; his niece, Lisa Rueb and her husband Kevin of Hutchinson, Kansas; and two nephews, Erik Hagans and his wife Ragan of Ness City, Kansas, and Ryan Hagans and his wife Stephanie of Hays, Kansas.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Hagans.
At Glenn’s request, no formal services will be held, and cremation has taken place.
Memorial Contributions may be give to Utica American Legion McKinstry-Jones Post 380.
