Grover F. Rothe, age 90, died Friday, July 30, 2010 at Cedar Village, Ransom, Kansas. Born December 10, 1919 in Rush County, Kansas the son of D.M. and Pauline Steinert Rothe. He was a farmer and stockman and had lived in Ness County since 1925. He was a member of the Ness City United Methodist Church and had served as a Ness County Commissioner for 12 years. On April 1, 1948 he married Avis E. Bell in Dodge City. She survives. Other survivors include son, R.D. Rothe, Ness City; daughter Linda Harkness and her husband Gary, Larned, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Rothe, and three brothers, Walter, Martin, and Cleve Rothe.
Funeral service will be at the Ness City Cemetery, Tuesday, August 3, 2010, 10:30 AM. Friends may visit at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday, 2-9 pm and Monday 9am -9pm with the family present from 7-9pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
