Gwendolyn Joy Klitzke, age 91, passed away on November 23, 2024, at the Rhode Island Suites, Ransom, Kansas.  She was born on March 30, 1933, in Ransom, Kansas, the daughter of Willard E and Hollis (Farmer) Stowe.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Ransom and was a strong supporter of the area 4-H club.  Gwen worked alongside her husband on the family farm and drove a school bus for the school district.  Gwen most enjoyed her time as a para-professional in the Ransom Grade School

On June 17, 1951, she married Russell Duane Klitzke in Ransom, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 12,2013.

She is survived by her two sons, Rex Klitzke and his wife, Cheryl of Ransom and Rich Klitzke and his wife, Teri, of Hays; three daughters, Joy Madden of Ransom, Bonnie Slocombe and her husband, John, of Manhattan, and Jill Becker and her husband, Scott, of Garden City; two sisters, Patricia Frye of Wamego and Claudia Neyer of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Lloyd Stowe, and a sister, Gloria Jean Folkers.

A funeral service will be held at the Ransom Methodist Church on Monday, December 2, 2024, 10:30 a.m. followed by burial in the Ransom Cemetery. Friends may sign the book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Contributions in memory of Gwen may be given to Ransom Methodist Church or the Western Plains Grade School.
