Harriet Ruth McVicker, age 89, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Arbor Home, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on October 10, 1920 on the family farm SW of Beeler, Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Mabel Fry Webb.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Beeler United Methodist Church, Friendship Circle, Ness County Historical Society, and she was a former 4-H leader.
On April 22, 1942 she married Davis Dean McVicker at Dodge City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2009.
She is survived by her two sons: Earl & Molly McVicker, Hutchinson and Daryl & Claudia McVicker, Bonner Springs; two daughters: Linda & Sandy Fields, Omaha, NE and Cheryl & Richard Lewis, Wichita; five Grandchildren: Scott, Luke, Kelly and Brett McVicker and Missy McVicker Dibble; 1 great granddaughter: Madeline Dibble and a sister, Mary Frances Leighty, Las Animas, CO. She was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Webb.
Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church, Ness City on Saturday, April 17, 10:30 am with Reverend Warren Hett presiding. Burial in the Buda Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday from 9am until 9pm. The family will be present from 7-9pm on Friday. Memorial contributions to the United Methodist Church, Beeler and the Ness County Historical Society.
