Hilda Angelta Rein, age 86, died August 4, 2009 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born September 19, 1922 in Galatia, Kansas the daughter of George and Eva Hettinger Strecker. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women both of Bazine where she lived until 2001 when she moved to St. John's Assisted Living in Hays.

On May 8, 1940 she married Frank E. Rein at Bazine. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1995.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Sharon and Rich Heidebrecht, McPherson, Angela and Larry Wiedeman, LaCrosse, Janice and Rod Avey, Ames, Iowa, and Kathy and Randy Brenner, Ness City; 4 sisters, Hermina Ries, LaCrosse, Mildred Foos, Hays, Rachel Stieben, Bazine, and Arlene Schamaun, Great Bend, 9 grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott Brantley, Michelle and Paul Reifschneider, Heather and Merlin Moore, Heidi and Jay Holopirek, Dustin and Liz Avey, Julie and Keith Vulgamott, Valerie and Kirk Erickson, Ryan and Kristin Mauch, Jessica and Justin Antle and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Myra Ann Rein, sisters, Lydia Strecker and Martha Murphy, and brothers Lawrence and Dick Strecker.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 7, 2009, 10:30 A.M at the United Methodist Church, Bazine. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family visitation from 6:30 to 7:30 on Thursday. Burial in the Bazine Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be given to the church or the Bazine Cemetery fund.
