Iona Ann Pfannenstiel, age 79, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Rhode Island Suites, Ransom, Kansas. She was born on August 24, 1933 in Ness County the daughter of Joseph and Amelia Ruder Pfannenstiel.

Iona worked as an assistant to Dr. Parker and later went to work as a clerk in the ASCS office for 30 years until she retired in 1992. Iona was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Altar Society and Church Choir.

She was preceded in death by her seven brothers, Wendell, Edgar, Theobaldus, Marcellus, Robert, Harold, and William; four sisters, Adeline Leiker, Tillie Depperschmidt, Lydia Stecklein, and Florence Pfannenstiel. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Lorene, Ann, and Berniece Pfannenstiel; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 1, 2013, 10:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City with burial following in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary and Parish Vigil will begin at 6:30 P.M. at the church on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church.
