Irene Marie Blehm, age 90, passed away at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, Kansas on December 6, 2011. She was born on November 5, 1921 on a farm southwest of Bazine, Kansas the daughter of Adolph and Mary Bentlage Schneidewind.

She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Ness and Trego Counties. She was a member of LWML Ladies Aid and the Bazine Golden Years. On August 13, 1939, she married Herman Blehm. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1997.

She is survived by daughters, Nila Boese (Ronald), Monument, and Janette Stieben (Clifford), Ness City; sister-in-law, Lydia Blehm, Great Bend; five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Victor Schneidewind and Henry Schneidewind; sister, Edna Widiger, and great-great-grandsons, Chris Rupp and Jason Boese.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 10, 2011, 11:00 A.M. St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bazine. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, on Thursday from Noon to 9 P.M. and Friday 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. Burial in Bazine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, the Bazine Cemetery Fund, or Christ Pilot Me Hill.
