Obituary

Irene Margaret (Musbach) Stenzel, age 92, daughter of Harvey and Kathryn Musbach, was born July 1, 1921 in Ness City, KS and departed this life January 21, 2014.

She attended Ness City public schools, graduating with the Class of 1939. She was a beautician, graduating from Cosmetology School in Wichita in 1941. Irene was a well-known beautician in Bazine and Ness City for many years and owned Irene's Beauty Shop. She took great pride in her trade and so enjoyed the many friends she made while she was their beautician.

On December 29, 1946, she was united in marriage with Ralph Stenzel in Ness City. To this union, two sons were born – Loren and Marvin. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Marvin, her mother and father, and daughter-in-law, Dee Stenzel.

Irene will leave beautiful memories to her husband, Ralph, as having lived life to the fullest, loving those who cared and those who were indifferent, working hard to attain the goal of a job well done, and leaving the assurance of knowing that she still lives on.

She was a member of the Ness City United Methodist Church; American Legion Auxiliary Unit #152, Ness City; Ransom VFW Auxiliary, and the Ness City Leisure Years.

She leaves her husband Ralph; one son, Loren and daughter-in-law Lynette; two granddaughters, Tasha Wessel and husband Bob of Hutchinson, Kansas and Jill Schaben and husband Travis of Hays, Kansas; and four great-granddaughters, Emily and Raegan Wessel of Hutchinson and Alexis and Kaitlyn Schaben of Hays. One brother, Allen Musbach and two sisters, Vi Burditt and Arlene Miller, all of Ness City.
