James Carl Ellis, age 76, died Sat., Dec. 26, 2009 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born Sept. 26, 1933 in Maramec, OK the son of Amos and Harriet "Hallie" Longgrear Ellis. He was a retired oil field pumper and a veteran of the United States Army.
On Jan. 1,1954 he married Donna McBeth in Lyons, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, James & Anita, Brentwood, TN, Kevin & Dorinda, Salina, KS; two daughters, Carla & Fred Larkin, Smolan, KS, Brenda & Larry Hammonds, Lindsborg, KS; brother, Milton Ellis; six sisters, Fern Caudle, Mildred Brush, Betty Gripe, Mary Gardner, Ramona Ellis, and Sarah Shipp; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Keeton.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home with Rev. Forrest Frazier presiding. Friends may call Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in the Ness City cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness County Hospital.
