Obituary

James Jacob Rohr, age 60, passed away on July 1, 2019 from injuries due to an automobile accident near WaKeeney. He was born on February 5, 1959 in Ransom the son of Leonard and Marjorie (Cheney) Rohr.

Jim raised cattle and sheep and operated C&R Salvage in Trego County, near Ransom. He also worked at Dollar General and then McDonald's in WaKeeney. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in WaKeeney. He was a member of the St. Aloysius Church and Knights of Columbus in Ransom. He married Jodi Roberts on August 21, 1982 in WaKeeney. Together they had three children, Jennifer, Justin, and Joe. He later married Judy Shull on Saturday, June 1, 2002, in McCook, Nebraska.

Survivors include his mother, Marjorie Rohr and his wife, Judy Rohr both of Ransom; two sons, Justin Rohr of Goodland and Joe Rohr of WaKeeney; daughter, Jennifer Pfeifer and her husband, Loren, of WaKeeney; stepdaughter, Tracie Padilla and her husband, Edgar, of Houston, Texas; grandson, Alex Pfeifer; two step-grandchildren, Nicole and Sarah Padilla; three sisters-in-law, Betty Rohr of Marion, Iowa, Marilyn Matson of Trenton, Nebraska and Vonda Brunswick and her husband, Manny, of Kearney, Nebraska; niece, Katrina Jelinek and nephew, Anthony Rohr. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard; brother, Thomas; and brother-in-law, Wayne Matson.

Funeral service will be on Friday, July 5, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at the Church of God, WaKeeney, Kansas. Burial in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Ransom, Kansas. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home to sign the book, the casket will be closed, on Thursday, July 4, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the WaKeeney Church of God.
