Janet Marie (Langer) Finke, 52, passed away on Oct. 19, 2023, with family by her side.

Janet was born to Arlene Langer and the late Alvin Langer on Dec. 3,1970 in Ness City, KS. She grew up on a farm south of Ness City, graduated high school in 1989, and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS in May of 2023.

She was married to Kelly Finke on November 4, 2000. Janet is survived by her husband Kelly; her children Carson Finke, Kealan Finke, Hannah Finke, and Taylor Finke; her mother Arlene Langer; and by a host of many other close family members.

Janet was preceded in death by her father (Alvin), mother-in-law (Thelma Finke), and step-son (Nick Finke).

Janet started as a paraprofessional in 2010 and became the 4th grade teacher at Minneola in 2020. She loved teaching at Minneola Grade School and working with the children. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories and was cherished by many.

A rosary will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, 2023, 6:30 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, November 18, 2023, 10:00 a.m. with inurnment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to St. Jude's Memorial Hospital in memory of Janet.
