Jeane Borthwick, 84, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Manor of the Plains, Dodge City, Kansas. She was born November 29, 1924 in Gove County to Thomas and Juanita Lehman Norton.
She had lived on the farm in Beeler since 1952. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the farm. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Friendship Circle and the Embroidery Club all of Beeler. She was also a member of the Kalvesta Quilters and the Ness County Historical Society. She was a former 4-H leader.
On June 16, 1946 she married Robert Borthwick on her parents' farm. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include: 3 sons, Jim and Alan, Hays, Kansas and Rex, Beeler; 3 daughters, Mary Hemp, Moberly, Missouri, Kathy Baird, Brewster, and Kristi Carrithers, Dodge City; 2 brothers, Clell Norton, Shoreline, Washington and Lee Norton, Ness City, Kansas; 3 sisters, Fay Bauer, Hays, Wilma Ochs, Granbury, Texas, and Judith Carter, Fountain, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leonard and Thomas Norton and a son-in-law, Tom Baird.
Funeral Service was at the United Methodist Church, Beeler on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 10:00 A.M with Pastor Warren Hett presiding. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery.
