Jo Ann Feeney, 83, passed away on September 30, 2024 at the her home near Ness City, Kansas.  She was born on November 21, 1940, in Great Bend, Kansas the daughter of Joe and Marjorie (Bickel) Petersilie.

Jo Ann was a lifelong resident of Ness County except for the time she was in business school and while she worked in Washington D.C. with the CIA.  Jo Ann met John Feeney while she was in Washington D.C. and brought him back to Ness County where they were married on June 24, 1961.  Jo Ann and John lived on the Petersilie farm where they raised their two children until his death on November 12, 2021.  She was an active member of the Ness City Methodist Church and a constant presence in the community.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughters,  Shannon Feeney of Ness City and Robin Pierson of Blue Spring, Missouri; one granddaughter, Regan Johnson and her husband, Ben, of Independence, Missouri; and sister-In-Law, Ann Feeney of Ness City. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 1:30 p.m., at the Ness City Methodist Church, followed by inurnment in the Ness City Cemetery.  Friends may sign the book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Monday, October 7 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness City Methodist Church or the Ford County Humane Society.
