Obituary

John Frederick Mishler, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays.

He was born on March 16, 1925 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Frederick and Anna Miek Mishler. He was a farmer and rancher and a lifetime resident of Ransom. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Ransom. He also had been on the Soil Conservation District and on the board of directors for the Ransom Farmers Co-op, USD #302, and the Deines Manufacturing Corporation.

On October 3, 1948 he married Fern Funk in Hillsboro, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Fern Mishler, Ransom; sons, Bruce Mishler (Willa), Lyndon, and Alan Mishler (fiance Susan McDonald), Ransom; sister, Virginia Dietterich (John), Ransom; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Mishler; and sister, Evelyn Carlson.

Memorial service will be Friday, November 4, 2011, 10:30 A.M. at the First Mennonite Church, Ransom. Private inurnment in Ransom Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Mennonite Church.
