John Ralph
Pfaff
August 13, 1969 – May 4, 2026
Johnny R. Pfaff, age 56, passed away at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas, on Monday, May 4, 2026.
He was born August 13, 1969, at Ness County Hospital, the son of Ralph and Mary Pfaff.
He worked many jobs throughout his life. He landed on driving a silage truck for R & A Farms, where he became part of their family. He loved driving the purple truck, as he called it, but could never figure out how to back up straight. He always claimed the trailer would go sideways on him. He could always tell stories that would have everyone laughing. Growing up, his stepfather Glenn was a big part of his life. Glenn always had several moments that he was getting pranked by Johnny. Throughout his life, he had ups and downs but had a heart of gold and was always willing to help someone out if needed. He loved being outdoors and finding all kinds of junk to bring to the farm, thinking it was treasures. He enjoyed helping neighboring farmers with cattle and many other things. Anyone that knew him knew he was never without a Pepsi. If he didn’t have one, he was trying to find one. He would always come around after a day of hauling silage and want to know what’s for supper.
He is survived by his children Marissa Rundle of Hays, KS; son Zachary Rundle of Englewood, CO; sister Melissa Pfaff of Ness City, KS; two half siblings, Nichole and Tracy; Amanda Pfaff (niece); Brett Skinner (nephew); Selena (niece); two granddaughters; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Glenn Pfaff.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, KS.
Burial in the Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell, KS.
